Thoughts on Homeopathy

Discover how homeopathy, a centuries-old system of medicine continues to evolve and gain popularity as a complementary and alternative approach to health and wellness

Homeopathy cannot be described as a new science, but for many, it remains a little-known field of medicine.

Although the founder of homeopathy, Samuel Hahnemann, began his experiments back in the 18th century, and during this time leading homeopaths have achieved significant milestones in the treatment and prevention of diseases, it is not as widespread here as it is abroad.

A set of homeopathic holistic remedies.

Many consider it to be merely an analog to herbal medicine, while others believe that treatment with such preparations is a lengthy process and the effect will not be seen soon.

For a time, homeopathy was completely banned in the former Soviet Union. The distrust towards it is based on the inability to understand how microscopic doses of substances can affect the body.

In essence, the effectiveness of these miracle granules is not less, and often even greater, than that of conventional medications. Although the impact occurs more on an informational level. And homeopathic medicines do not cause side effects.

To be fair, it must be said that not all diseases can be treated with homeopathic preparations. Sometimes two methods of treatment are used in parallel, and sometimes homeopathic doses cannot help. But it is worth knowing about this alternative branch of medicine if only to have the opportunity to make an informed choice: for or against.

One of the representatives of homeopathic doctors, is convinced that homeopathy is worth dedicating time and effort to.

The literal translation of the word "homeopathy" means "treatment of like with like."

For the treatment of each specific disease, a homeopathic remedy is prescribed, which is prepared from a substance that, in material doses, can cause a state similar to the given disease in a healthy person.

Homeopathic medicines are created based on substances of natural origin, taken in very small quantities. They can be plants, minerals, or other natural components, and the specificity of homeopathic medicines lies in the microdoses of the base substances, which, strangely enough, act on the body much more effectively. The higher the dilution, the more effective the results.

Consider allergic reactions that in appearance and course resemble burns from nettles (blisters on the body, redness, fever). This condition can be treated with a homeopathic remedy made from nettles.

Of course, the explanation is somewhat simplified. Medications are selected strictly individually, and for this, it is necessary to see the patient, talk to them, and identify all, even the slightest nuances of the illness, hereditary diseases, etc.

For example, a note from a homeopathy: "if I observe the same urticaria in a patient but see that it worsens from heat, I will suggest Apis or Natrum carbonicum. If the deterioration, on the contrary, occurs from cold and moisture, Urtica will be suitable."

That is, in addition to similarity, medications are selected based on modality (the ability of any symptom to change under the influence of other factors, which can include temperature, body position, music, etc.).
